Voice over IP Support Engineer
Pangaia Partners is an IT consulting firm specializing in Enterprise Technology
Services. Our client list includes many Fortune 500 firms including several
large Equipment manufacturers. Pangaia Partners has several positions open
that require the background listed below.
Your role will be to maintain Nortel CS1000 VoIP systems. You must
have solid experience with VoIP and Nortel’s CS1000/1000m. You will work
as the lead technical engineer for installation, support and break/fix
as well as working with Data engineers in the strategic rollout of VoIP services
for large/enterprise organizations. Working familiarity with NETIQ,
Sniffer's and understanding of QOS and Troubleshooting VOIP environments required.
We prefer individuals with a minimum 10 years of hands-on voice experience
and advanced certifications for Nortel products.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain installed base of a Nortel CS1000 VoIP system.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the switch.
- Manage Move/Add/Change requirements.
- Meets network infrastructure engineering work standards by following production,
productivity, quality, and network infrastructure engineering standards;
resolving operational problems; identifying network infrastructure engineering
work process improvements; monitoring and evaluating network infrastructure
engineering staff actions.
- Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting
network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with vendor
network architects on network optimization.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading
professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in
professional organizations.
- Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing
related results as needed.
- Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information;
managing projects.
Requirements:
- 10 years experience with enterprise-level voice and network products
- Ability to multi-task within highly demanding environment with keen focus
on execution and quality
- Working familiarity with NETIQ, Sniffer's, understanding of QOS and experience
troubleshooting VOIP environments required.
- Self-motivated, independent, and achievement oriented, with high energy
level
